EXTRAS:
Vol 11 No's 1 and 5 both feature background images of Pittsburgh taken at night, from up on "The Mont," otherwise known as Mt Washington, the high ridge of land across the Monongahela River from downtown.
Yes, the advertising image for No 5 was inspired, in part, by the "spraypaint" aesthetic from the movie Atomic Blonde.
Vol 11 No 2 has, in the inset image, a background shot at Carrie Furnace (more on that site here).
Vol 11 No 6(A) features a cell in the Ohio State Reformatory, the Mansfield, OH prison that provided some of the on-location settings for the movie The Shawshank Redemption.
Vol 11 No 6(D) does show an actual archaeological dig site, this one in Pennsylvania: the Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village (a division of the Senator John Heinz History Center). The rockshelter, literally a rock overhang that gave a measure of protection from the weather, was discovered to have evidence of human habitation some 19,000 years ago.
