Because once I had a camera I could stop saying to myself "If I only had a camera" and just take the damn picture.
Over the years between the inception of this site and, well, now, I've also used the 'blog site tumblr to post photographs; the unfortunate hiatus from editing this site in late 2016-early 2017 certainly abetted in that usage. It was also more convenient for posting the photos and commentary about my "road trips," as opposed to obtaining new domain names and constructing entirely new websites. Yep, convenience wins!
For more general photography then, please do refer to Jake Ponders n'at. There are some of these that refer to pages on this site, and I can't be sure that I have all of the photographs "tagged," but most of them are.
For the "road trip specific" photography and accompanying commentary, refer toJake Rambles n'at. There are a fair number of images on that 'blog, from "around the counties" to the trips to Pittsburgh and the East Coast.
I will be adding photographs here, but fewer of them, probably.
Wings of Freedom: photographs taken of WW II aircraft visiting Purdue University, August 2016, including aerial shots.
I very much enjoyed taking photographs when I was younger, but there was a span of years when I did not own a camera. I've often said that my salary and the price point on decent digital cameras finally came to terms back in 2007, and I bought one. Since then I've shot a lot of images. Some turned out pretty O.K., and some I've put up here.
