"One of those things" that never ceases to draw attention is a sunset, like these following:
I've been building a series of photographs of the sunset as it appears on the 21st or 22nd of the month, which images can be seen on my tumblr: Jake Ponders n'at. After the sun had set on September 22nd, I shot the scene above.
Another shot near the ALCOA plant in Lafayette: this one through part of the electrical sub-station on the south-east corner of the facility. The burnt color of the sky and clouds grabbed my attention first, then as I wandered the adjacent parking lot, I started shooting through the steel structures.

This shot came about after an over-the-shoulder glance, and a sudden stop of the car, 'cause a photo just had to be taken!
