Invitation to Entry
What one has to be cautious about, with an invitation from the Fey, is that what happens within the borders of their particular realm proceeds in Time at a rate that is not like what is experienced in the Human world. Many are the tales of someone stepping inside Faerie only to find, upon returning to our sphere, that decades have passed--and the visitor was long since believed dead. So, take care.

Hanging About

One of the Fey of Sandy Hook, New Jersey.
The Sandy Hook Unit of the Gateway National Recreation Area is one of those places I like to go when I'm in Jersey and have the time. More images from there can be found on this website, and on Jake Rambles n'at.

"Oh - hi there! How long have you been watching?"

The Lamplighters

We're wondering why so many natural features get named "Devil's" something-or-other, such as "Devil's Backbone," where-on this image was captured.
The highest block on the Devil's Backbone is a plinth-like crop of rock about 100 feet above the stream bed below, and maybe 15 feet wide. A rough circle, partially ringed by trees, it strikes me as a place that is, or should be, sacred, with nothing "devilish" about it. For the diminutive Lyssa, it is a special place.

Saicara of the Shades
Saicara was happy to pause for a photograph. Like most of the fey, she normally stays out of sight as visitors to the park pass by, but sometimes will make herself known. The branch she's standing on is one of her favorite places to take a rest as it affords a pleasant view up and down Pearl Ravine, and catches the air coming down-hill with the stream. What I didn't notice until it was too late was the "photo bombing" by Alvion - who dropped in on the shot in moth drag, a tiny bottle of ale in hand and no steady landing to go with it. Saicara tried to get him to, um, "bug off," but he insisted on sticking around, so this is the best shot I have.
